Unicode Burlesque!
Every script you dream of
Including hieroglyphs
In one encoding scheme:4
Unicode Burlesque!
Oh!
Everyone is writing
With their glyphs and accidence
If you need a little extra
Well, get a supplement5
You may not be fluent
But you do not have to guess
Tell me what you need
Unicode Burlesque!
You can dream of Dodo6
Use it at your risk
The triple underdot is7
Not an ellipsis8
Cyrillic keeps you guessing
O multiocular9
Elifi’s in Georgian10
Unicode Burlesque!
Oh!
Everyone is writing
With their glyphs and accidence
If you need a little extra
Well, get a supplement
Something used in Batak
Is bindu na metek11
It starts a verse that ends
With bindu pangolat12

Inspiration
Musing about the multi-ocular O ꙮ the thought flitted across my mind that a #Unicode #burlesque show would be a lot of fun. And I write it here so that mine isn't the only imagination this idea now lives in.

- The Unicode Consortium (https://home.unicode.org/) manages the Unicode character encoding scheme, which has the goal of associating a unique identifier (Unicode code point) to every character used in living (and some dead) languages to facilitate digital interoperability. The Egpytian Hieroglyphs block covers Unicode code points U+13000 to U+1342F. See https://graphemica.com/blocks/egyptian-hieroglyphs Back to text
- The Unicode character encoding scheme arranges characters in blocks with a common script or theme, to which is given a descriptive name, e.g. Cyrillic. If another block is subsequently added for the same script, the name frequently takes the form ‘X supplement’, e.g. Cyrillic Supplement. Back to text
